Carbon Dioxide CO2 Gas Extinguishing System

Carbon Dioxide CO2 Gas Extinguishing System

Carbon dioxide extinguishing systems are a fire extinguishing system used in unmanned conditions. Carbon dioxide gas, by rapidly reducing the oxygen balance in the environment and as a result, the shock effect caused by the released carbon dioxide, succeeds in reducing the temperature in the relevant area. Carbon dioxide gas extinguishing systems, which have a very effective extinguishing power, are a fire extinguishing system suitable for use in unmanned conditions, as they can cause harm to human health. In this system, various measures must be taken to prevent the system from operating out of control in situations such as maintenance, repair, and immediate intervention. The nozzles and cylinders in this system, and the valves used in the system must comply with international standards.

The characteristics of carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems are as follows;

It has a very effective and fast extinguishing technique.

It does not harm the ozone layer.

It can be preferred in local applications.

It should not be used in areas where there is human power.

It is often used in fires that are deep and spread over a wide area.

It does not have the ability to conduct electricity.

It can create a dust cloud in the surroundings after the system is discharged.

The cost of refilling the system is also very low.

The system is discharged in a maximum of 1 minute.

Carbon dioxide extinguishing systems, which have the above features and are an extremely effective fire extinguishing system, are preferred especially in computer rooms, medical or industrial laboratories, transformer rooms, power supply rooms, cable galleries, engine rooms, paint booths, flammable liquid storage areas, electrical control panel rooms, and environments where sensitive devices are located.

Of course, an unmanned area is required in such conditions.

In fire extinguishing systems such as water, chemical powder and foam, the waste that is released after a fire and needs to be cleaned does not take place in this system. For this reason, it is effective and draws attention as a very clean fire extinguishing system. The low cost of yeast and the ability to fill the system, which empties in a maximum of 60 seconds, without requiring high costs are also among the factors that make this system special. However, this system must be created and used after taking more stringent safety measures than other systems. Even a small amount of carbon dioxide gas causes life-threatening dangers when inhaled. For this reason, the necessary work must be carried out carefully and safety measures appropriate to the system must be taken.
