Wet Pipe Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems

In wet pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems, where automatic sprinklers are connected to a specific water source and installed on pipe systems containing water, the sprinkler opens due to the temperature detected due to the fire and the water flows intensively onto the burning material. In this system, which automatically activates due to the temperature increase due to the fire, water is discharged onto the combustible material in a manner similar to rain.

Dry Pipe Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems

In this system, compressed air is applied to the pipe network in such a way that the valve located between the water supply and the pipe network is kept closed. Or instead, nitrogen gas is filled into this area. The air pressure is automatically controlled by a valve located at the inlet of the network. The heat released by the fire activates any sprinklers and the pressure in the pipe network drops rapidly. As the pressure drops, the valve located at the inlet of the dry pipe network automatically opens and the pipes fill with water and move towards the fire area. In situations where wet pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems are not used, in areas with lower temperatures; Dry pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems are used.

Deluge Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems

Deluge sprinkler extinguishing systems, which have a structure similar to wet and dry pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems, have a control valve that is normally closed. The valve is automatically activated and opened by a separate fire receiving system. It is preferred in cases where rapidly spreading fires are controlled and large volumes of water are needed in a short time. At the same time, in this system where standard sprinklers are used, all sprinklers are in the open position.

Preaction Sprinkler Systems

Similar to deluge sprinkler systems, but with the sprinkler not in the open position, Preaction sprinkler systems use fusible elements or glass ampoules to protect the sprinkler. The control valve acts as a pre-action valve. The heat generated by the fire causes the pre-action valve to open and fill the pipe network with water. This moves the sprinkler towards the burning area.
